now i understand

Well, in part, at least.

Ever since the rice crisis hit the headlines, I was baffled why the Philippines, which is an agricultural country, could have a shortage of rice. And I was shocked to learn that our country, which is home to the world reknowned International Rice Research Institute, could be the world's number one importer of rice!

[Did not have much time to write today, so will continue tomorrow.]

How paradoxical can we get? Onli in da Pilipins.

Sa totoo lang po, agricultural tayo pero not conducive to rice-planting because:

1. Our country is like Pacific Oceans's gate to Asia. We kindof protect much of Asia from typhoons, but in the process, tayo ang naboboljak ng bagyo.

2. Most of our lands are mountainous. Wla maxadong plains.

3. Most of our lands are islands. Wla maxadong plains.

These are the reasons aside from our politicians, the obvious and ready culprits.
