Yesterday, March 28, the asphalt road in front of our house was dug up so that it can be changed into a concrete road. From previous experiences (concreting the other streets in Dumaguete) this could take from around four to six months. No kidding. It is appalling. There has to be a more efficient way of doing this but that way is beyond me. I wish the people over at the Public Works and Hiways or the Provincial Engineer's Office would figure out how to make this good project more resident friendly.

The spacious three or four lane highway has been reduced to a narrow two lane street. Good thing it is summer so traffic is considerably light because there are no school bells to catch.

Here a payloader scoops out one side of the road and dumps the earth into a waiting dump truck.
