Consider this story.
midpool posing
It was during the swimming session at the Private Residence that one classmate noticed a big lump on the hip of another classmate. After further examination by a surgeon classmate, a diagnosis was made and surgery recommended.
PRE-OP:
This is the right hip lump, the size of a closed fist. It had been growing for 13 years already.
INTRA-OP:
No, the patient isn't grimacing in pain, nor is he high on opioids. His anesthesia is mainly local plus vocal, as the surgeon amazes all with his operating skills as with his jokes.
This is the fatty mass, grossly diagnosed as a lipoma, that was removed. This picture is intentionally blurry because some viewers might not have the stomach for such images.
POST-OP:
The happy surgeon, patient's wife, anesthesiologist and patient, who has the biggest smile as the anesthesia hasn't worn off yet!
* all perioperative photos were taken and posted with expressed consent from patient himself

The best part of the story is that the service was free! Yay! Was it? hehe.
I think it's great that old classmates can and do help each other out. Inggit na talaga ako sa batch ninyo, Doc Ness! :-)
Haha, consents all around. Yes.
It's always good to have doctors in the batch. Hahaha
this is a riot. ROTFL. hehehe.
Hi Vicki,
This bukol is a kind of tumor that is benign. As for the head, hehehe, never mind which one basta usa ra ato nila nga mga ... you know. ;p Yeah, ako to naa didto sa ikatulo. Bitaw, maayo ra gyud naay mga kaila o classmate na dokie.
Hi KittyMama,
Op cors, courtesy yon kasi parang magkakapatid kami dito sa batch 78. :-)
Actually, this camaraderie is not unique to our batch. It's the recurring theme and "motto" of every Silliman batch. Every batch is bonded in a very special way. Ito yong tinatawag nilang Silliman Spirit which truly transcends time and distance.
Bri,
As in! These days we are super meticulous about getting the patient's consent for everything, most especially photo/video documentation.
Meloinks, yes indeed, bibo kaayo. In sickness or in health, mangatawa ra gihapon. Isn't that just so Filipino?
thanks dr, ness,

Ms Ness, I meant it was a very amusing story. Nakakatuwa, especially with the matching pictures.
Bonnie dear,
that's what classmates are for, to help out each other, di bah!
thanks so very, very much for your help as well. mwah!
Hi Craigjem,
Oh, thank you for the clarification! :-)
These are the meanings of the word "hoot" in dictionary.com:
8. the cry of an owl.
9. any similar sound, as an inarticulate shout.
10. a cry or shout, esp. of disapproval or derision.
11. British. a horn, siren, or whistle, esp. a factory whistle.
12. Informal. the least bit of concern, interest, or thought; trifle: I don't give a hoot.
13. Slang. an extremely funny person, situation, or event: Your mother's a hoot when she tells about her escapades in boarding school.
I see now that you meant the last meaning! salamat for visiting and i'm glad natuwa ka sa story. :-)
hoy, kindly change the first selection of your september song to the theme song of the broadway play FANTASTICS... more classic and classy... you saw my reaction when it played at the cafe...
Mr. X, done na po. ;p
in the last picture i was not really smiling, just relieved its done without problems, remember the extension syndrome. not easy doing surgery on close friends and family. also kindly change the 1st song of your september theme songs to the theme song of the broadway play FANTASTICS... you know that song... it starts like this: try to remember the kind of september when life was slow and all so mellow.... more classic and classy...
bong,
na change na baya nako ang first song! paminawa.
and yeah i know you were not smiling. ingon ko happy ka. kami ra ang ga smile. ;p
hi hi, yeah thanks for the change sa song.... just happy no problems encountered. just talk to luis and doing well in fact balik dayon siya work. kinda worried initially kay i could feel the femoral head man gud so it was kinda deep.. usually wounds this deep really have problems post-op.
