Stories:
A. Camote and saging, gifts from our neighbors. We also had saba bananas but they are not in the picture because they were already being made into banana cue. Another favorite way of preparing saba bananas is to boil them and then dip in bagoong with each bite. The best, ever. This is the true test of a Dumagueteno. If you do not like to eat saging this way, then maybe you did not grow up in Dumaguete. Cooking bananas remind me of Auntie Gloria who so loves fried bananas she can eat them for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. :p Me too, Auntie!
B. This is a kapok (cotton) tree in the vacant lot next to our house. It's been shedding a lot of cotton lately and it's like there's a light snowfall in our yard. Not good, as I'm asthmatic. This shot was taken at half past 6 pm and it wasn't dark at all. Longer days in summer, right.

In high school, my dear friend Karen and I had a favorite poem. "Yellow moon" or "Moonstruck," I can't recall the title anymore, but it had a line that went "...caught in a prison of bare branches..." So everytime Karen and I would see the moon, caught in some branches, bare or not, we would always recite that line, "caught in a prison of bare branches..." and it would make us so happy no end. Ah, the simple joys of youth. :-)
C. And this little cutie here is part of a trio. We have three new little kittens! The other two have scampered away so I was only able to take a picture of this brave one. Dedicated to all cat lovers out there. Meoww.
