summer = earth 3x

More earth digging today.

The usual ten minute drive to work took twenty minutes (seemed like one hour when you’re running late) because I had to make several detours as many of the rutted asphalted roads in the city are being dug up in preparation for cementing. That's good news, the cementing.

The bad news is, I don't understand why they don't put the "road closed" signs at some distance from the actual closed road so that motorists won't waste their time driving through a long road only to find themselves at a dead end because of the road improvement projects going on.

And sometimes the "road closed” signs are untrue. For example, right in front of our gate, the street has been dug up and flattened by a pison (road roller) and at the beginning of this road-dig-up there is a big sign that says:

But actually two-way traffic is allowed to pass through the dug up (and flattened) road. So whenever one sees the sign “Road closed ahead” one cannot be sure if it is true or not! ::deep sigh:: So these signs are like the-sign-who-cried-closed, the only way to know if they are true is to see with your own two eyes, sometimes after you have gone to drive to the end of the road and that's when you realize you have to make a u-turn. :-(

Road closed ahead? Not!
