spot the not

This is a Saisaki lechon de leche.

This is a Cebu lechon de bakery, lovingly hand-carried by Lalaine all the way from Cebu, where she was on hospital duty on Christmas eve.

Haha! Yes, Vicki and Sonia, it is made of flour, it's a lechon shaped bread! an incredible testament to Filipino creativity and ingenuity. Galing ng Pinoy! Now we can say, "We had lechon for Christmas or New Year!" ;p

As in! Amazing, ano? It was a big hit sa Christmas dinner namin kagabi and I asked everyone not to EAT it yet kasi dadalhin ko sa party tonight, our big family reunion. Tiyak marami na namang matutuwa at ma-amaze, hehehe. I don't know if they have this in Manila already, I'll ask Lalaine.

what kind of bread does it taste like, ness? (or is that a stupid question?)

merry christmas!

Hi Clairebear,

Finally, after tonight's reunion party, we got to slice and taste the "lechon bread" and it tastes like monay. I don't know if you're familiar with that bread... it's not salty like pan de sal, just like regular bread. Nothing exotic about the taste, pero ang shape talaga ang pambato nito. Meron daw available sa Manila nito. I'm sure a lot of people would order one for new year's eve. Ngayon lahat puede na magka-lechon! Medium size (in picture) costs 100.00 pesos in Cebu. May ham and cheese pa sa loob.

Happy New Year in advance!
