Wat is Most Precious to You?

This is a sign in one of the wats or temples in Bangkok. We went to so many wats I lost track of which was wat and what was which.

"Beware of your valuable possessions"

Sounds like a missed-in-translation kind of erroneous grammar, in the context of it's original intent, which is to warn people about minding their valuables lest these things get lost in the crowd.

However, one can also take this as Buddha's way of reminding us to be wary of the things or even persons or ideals that have become our most valued possessions. For they can possess us.
