As Brian ponders about the Renaissance Man, Rodolfo Tan Cardoso calls Wesley So the Renaissance kid of Philippine chess. Wesley So, at 14 years old, is the world's youngest chess Grandmaster. He won the tenth Dubai Open held last April 5-15, 2008 in Dubai.

How does one become a chess Grandmaster? It's a long, arduous process, outlined here, in case any of you is interested, or are wondering what road Wesley So has gone through to become a GM.
