she purrs

She's a baby to drive, our brand new Datex-Ohmeda Aespire. Super souped up. The works. I love her. All three-point-five million of her.

And I thought you were talking about a car! P3.5-M -- oh, my goodness, I should have been a doctor.

But looking at all the bright lights and wires -- geek heaven! I should have been a doctor!

LOL.

Er, stumbled on this while I was looking up the specs of your machine:

I hope whatever flaw, if any, has been addressed already.

Hi, Doms, bilib na gyud ko sa imong pagka-lover of things that go bleep-bleep and blink-blink!

Hey, thanks for pointing out that article about a flaw in the machine. I did find another article that addressed that issue. http://www.anesthesia-analgesia.org/cgi/content/full/102/1/331

There are specific settings that have to be adjusted to adapt to the local scavenging set-ups as different hospitals have different ways of disposing of the anesthetic gases that the patient exhales (otherwise, everybody in the operating room would fall asleep!).

This is a reminder for us anesthesiologists, as what has always been rammed into us, to always monitor the patient and not the fancy monitors. I, myself, kept touching and looking at the 3.5M machine and kept asking myself what's so 3.5M about this???

Well, yeah, it's like a car. It "can take you places" and hopefully, if all goes well, bring you back to the here and now, intact, alive and well!

Hi Vicki,

Bitaw, no. This machine can be quite intimidating. I remember a elderly doctor told me once that she also did not like the sight and sound of these machines that go beep-beep-beeeeeeep.

Haha, anes ka talaga! The things that get you excited. Or could it be one of those anes gases (NO) that's getting you all happy? hehe...
From the looks of it, it seems that I really will be visiting you soon one of these days. ;) stay posted.

As in, Megamom! Sige, looking forward to seeing you soon!

And did you know in ancient times they used to spray nitrous oxide in the room to make their parties livelier? Today, we don't use NO very often because of the cost. Mahal siya.
